The craftsman

Image
The moment I drove on the 210 I felt like I was going home. I wasn’t going to look at houses today, but I got an email and sent my realtor something about a house down the street. I’m interested in the California craftsman bungalow. I am interested in the area known as bungalow heaven. We go. Nazzee picks me up on the corner and we see it. I wasn’t expecting to be here or see it or feel this way. The sky was dark blue and all the trees were beautiful.

The house is done. It’s now not mine.

The painters are done. Everything is white.  The rest of me is in a pile of dust in the garage.  A couch & TV. Toilet seat & quilts.  It’s spices and pots & pans. Covered in dust.  My existence will go somewhere else very soon. It’s time. The pile will move.

She refused to take me to certain restaurants because I’d get to learn that being a noodle girl is okay. You don’t want to be a noodle girl. It was such a thing. To see this restarting and realize it’s actually tacky as shit! So much for the elite straight torture mom wanted from me. I went to get noodles with my girlfriend an...
